Mike Murphy '95, a software developer at BlueTie.com, reports that his company is aggressively seeking qualifed C++/Linux, Postgres, and JavaScript developers. He encourages qualified SBU CS students interested in a career in Western New York (Rochester) to apply.

BlueTie offers an integrated workgroup suite that competes with MS Exchange -- except that it works entirely in a web browser.  They accept direct enrollment (free sign-up) and also brand the email site to ISP's.

The company's business model is based on "Featuretisements" rather than traditional banners. For example, Orbitz is integrated, so if you book a flight or hotel the information automatically gets loaded into your BlueTie calendar.

BlueTie won Forbes "Best of the Web" in 2002, 2003 and 2004.  Our CEO, David Koretz, has appeared on the covers of Forbes and Inc. Bare Naked Ladies has played at company picnics in the past, we have catered meals and it's got a high productivity, but comfortable start-up atmosphere.
