User Interfaces

First Reaction Paper

Consider the list of research goals outlined in Section 1.6.1 of the text.  You are to choose one of them, learn about a particular project currently being undertaken and write a one-to-two page summary of the work.  (Reports being what they are, you will probably end up learning about work recently completed in some field, but any result which has not made its way into the public parlance is acceptable.)  You may use any sources you wish; you must, of course, properly cite any source you use.  The book’s web site as well as the bibliographies at the end of the chapter are probably good places to start.

Your summary should include an outline of the goals of the work, the particular development achieved, methods of evaluation, results, and future work – as appropriate for your topic. 

This project is to be completed according to the department’s policies as an Individual Project With Limited Collaboration.  (See the Academic Practices and Policies document for a more complete interpretation of the conditions.)  This project is to be turned in at the beginning of class on Thursday, November 9
