Homework
- Final Project: Design (and implement) a virtual world of your choosing. The goal of this project is to impress your viewer. This may be done by telling a particularly interesting story, through great effects, via impressive technical feats, or by any combination of these (and other) features. You may work in pairs on this project if you wish, but no more than two people may be in a group. (You are not required to work in pairs; solo projects are equally welcome.) You may base your project on an exercise from the book or you may work from your own imagination. Your project is due when you begin the final exam. There is, however, a bonus of 10% available to any project submitted by 8 a.m. on Dec. 8 (so that it may be shown in class that day.
- Work through Chapter 7 and complete ANY ONE of the five exercises at the end of the chapter. When your world is complete, email it to your instructor. This email must be received by Tuesday, November 22, at 4 p.m.
- If you were to squeeze all of the toothpaste that you will use in your lifetime into a single ribbon, how long would that ribbon be? Write your estimate up in a form similar to that discussed in class. Due November 1.
- 3 Questions assignment, due December 9.
- Cornell note taking assignment, due November 29.
- You are to complete ANY ONE of the exercises at the end of Chapter 4. When your world is complete, email it to your instructor. This email must be received by Friday, October 21, at 4 p.m. (Note: for extra credit, complete one of the projects - as opposed to exercises - at the end of the chapter.)
- Schedule assignment, due November 3.
- Work through Chapter 2 and complete ANY ONE of the five exercises at the end of the chapter. When your world is complete, email it to your instructor. This email must be received by Monday, September 19, at 4 p.m.
- Weigh yourself and record that value somewhere private. In addition to Health Services, there is a scale available in Doyle 118.
- Send an email to your instructor (at his preferred address) from your preferred email address, saying something unique about yourself. For a bonus point, include a good joke. Do so before Thursday's (9/1) class.
- Launch the Alice software and complete the first tutorial. Do so before Thursday's (9/1) class.
